He will lead and Guide you into all truth John 16:13.
You are the one for that special task, the business, that new role, that book, and even that relationship. You are tailor made to walk in the truth of God’s will for your life. You know what He revealed to you. I realize that I used to rely on my skewed vision more than I relied on God and His word for many years of my life. I’ve been through trauma at a very young age and had never come to terms with it until after my divorce in 2018. As a result of the effects of trauma on my mind, I had to intentionally measure what I believed about myself against God’s Word and promises over my life. My hope for you is that you acknowledge what He is doing in you and recognize that You are the one. What do you do when you sense You are the one, how do you go about living that truth when you do not initially believe it? First, you must accept that you’ve been called. Second, seek His guidance every step of the way. Third, continue to trust God no matter what you see.
Accept the call by giving God your yes. Surrender your will to His will. Believe who He says you are.
Submerge yourself in His word. Every Word from God is a Promise. He must fulfill his Word. His Word is a guarantee, a title deed. I struggled to believe God’s word over my life for so long. I would recite it, but then go back to the same detrimental thoughts. God’s word is true and He is faithful, but for some reason, when it came to believing it for myself and my life, I struggled. I realized that I could not make myself believe. The remedy was to let the Word do the actual work. I thought I could make myself believe, by repeating. I realized that was a worldly view. You repeat and affirm the Word of God, to let the Word do the actual work. The Word is the miraculous. You see, the Word is God. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God, and the Word Was with God John 1:1. What a life changing Truth! You can’t change you, only God can.
Seek His guidance every step of the way. You do this by remaining in a posture of prayer and medication consistently. You do this by offering your life as a living sacrifice to hear Him speak to you and guide you into all truth. God will never lead you astray. His guidance is better than man’s. He knows all things. He promised to lead and guide you into all truth. I learned the hard way regarding guiding myself. I ignored the Lord’s promptings and nudges on who I should marry. I set myself back so far by making the wrong decision. My decision was a result of my brokenness. Despite my choice, God’s grace lifted me and blessed me with the gift of my son, even through my disobedience. I remember seeking God when naming my son. He told me to name him Noah. When finding out the meaning of the name, I was overjoyed! Noah means peace and comfort. I knew that even in my disobedience, God still loved me and He would give me peace through my journey of healing and discovering His perfect will for my life. Noah has been a symbol of peace and joy through the most difficult times of my life. God is full of grace and mercy! Even through the detours of your life, He will continue to lead and guide to shift you to the right path, even if the path may take you a little longer to get to your destination. Take comfort in knowing that you are on the path to your purpose. You can take comfort that no matter the detour, God’s guidance is there for you, just receive it.
Trust God no matter what you see. Your situation may not line up with what you believe God is telling you. Remember that we walk by faith and not by sight 2 Corinthians 5:7. The enemy will have you focusing on what you see and what you perceive in your mind and emotions. Remember that your emotions shift with what you see and sense with your natural eye. You must measure these emotions with what the Word says and what God has promised you. Your natural senses can deceive you, as they are a culmination of your experiences, good and bad. Even what you see on social media can often deter you from what God is trying to do in you. Always remember to filter thoughts, emotions, and events through God’s lens, His Word, and His promise to you. He is the source of truth, not you and definitely not social media. You must rely on his Word and the Holy Spirit that lives inside of you.
This is a reminder that You are the One that God is calling for such a time as this. You are the right one to write that book, to go back to school, and to do whatever He’s calling you to do. You can trust His leading. He will not lead you astray. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path Proverbs 3:5-6.
Truly a blessing when God brings you out of the darkness to show you out in His Light!
Thank you for this wonderful reminder! Grateful for your insight and transparency!
Thank you for the transparency and the encouragement. It is so needed in the body of Christ.
Thank you for the reminder that we need to allow God’s word to do the work in us. The good news is that God can not lie and He will fulfill His promises. Also, we shouldn’t embrace the imposter syndrome because He who called us has also equipped us. Great read!
This was so well written, it explains and encourages!
